  • 1/2 cup pastina tiny star pasta
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese grated, plus more for topping

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, bring the broth to a gentle boil.
  • Add the pastina and cook for 5–6 minutes, or until tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in butter and Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Ladle into bowls, top with extra cheese and parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

You can enrich the soup with a beaten egg for extra protein, or add shredded chicken for a heartier version.
