This Sizzle & Savory Salisbury Steak features juicy beef patties simmered in a rich mushroom and onion gravy. A comforting, satisfying dinner classic perfect with mashed potatoes or rice.
In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Shape into 4 oval patties.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and sear 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onions and mushrooms and sauté for 5–6 minutes until softened.
Sprinkle flour over the veggies and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10–12 minutes, until fully cooked through. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
For even richer flavor, add a splash of red wine to the gravy. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
