Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups day-old bread, cubed
  • 2 large bananas, mashed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  • Place the cubed bread into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Stir the mashed bananas into the milk mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Pour the banana custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes, pressing down lightly to ensure all the bread is soaked.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Notes

For an extra indulgent version, add a handful of chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the mixture before baking!
